The SouthEast Van Council started as a gathering of like minded individuals in October of 2004. With 6 vans at a small campground in North Carolina, the discussions started with a focus on creating events throughout the Southeast. Two years later the council was formed, in February of 2006, with the intent of connecting van clubs, independents, and van enthusiasts around the Southeast. The original fall meeting became the Great Southern Van Run that is still hosted every year, the first full weekend, in October at the Flaming Arrow Campground in Cherokee, North Carolina. The council now hosts a Spring run and a Fall run in support of their bi-annual meetings.
The council is governed by a group of officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms) and 2 council ambassadors. This group is guided by the council By Laws. The council welcomes any and all vans, clubs, independents, and enthusiasts who are current with their dues and abide by the guidelines laid out in the By Laws.
