The Southeast Van Council or SEVC was voted into existence in February 2006.  The SEVC was formed to bring together van clubs and independent van owners throughout the Southeast region of the United States, to arrange meetings and events to promote social gatherings, to communicate ideas, activities, and events to its members.

The SEVC is overseen by a group of officers consisting of 2 Co-Chairmen, a Treasurer, a Secretary, and  Sargeant at Arms.  The officers and the council are governed by a Constitution and Bylaws.
