As you already know, the location of GSVR 17 has changed. We now will be at the Happy Holiday RV park, in Cherokee N.C. Please check out their Facebook page . They have arranged a special price for camping at our GSVR, but the extended price reduction ends May 15 , 2021. Also, mention SouthEast Van Council when you register. After you are escorted to your site then please come register with us, so we can meet you and give you your goody bag. These grounds have golf cart rentals. The store has a breakfast deal, as well as a pizza and wings deal . Fire wood and ice can be bought on site, too. The council has held open 67 sites on one side of the grounds so please make your reservations SOON.

You may expect to enjoy all the usual happenings at GSVR this year including the returning council sponsored hot dog night, and the pot luck supper that is Saturday night. There will also be raffles, hot wheel racing, kids games, and the ever popular Show and Shine. The Cross Fire band will be returning this year as well. Make sure to get your moonshine in the tasting contest.

We look forward to seeing every one this fall, October 1-3.

As promised, here is the Good News! We are moving to Happy Holiday RV Village in Cherokee. Just past the Casino towards Maggie Valley; about 5 miles from the old campground.

PLEASE NOTE the deadline of 5-1-2021 for the reduced rate of $33.75 plus tax for GSVR reservations!

Map below is for reference of where the campsites for SEVC are located. All spots are on level ground! We think everyone will like the NEW GROUNDS. There is a store onsite with food, firewood, and golf cart rentals…..more on that to come.

This years GSVR event will not be at Flaming Arrow Campgrounds due to the campgrounds not being available .I received an email today that states, business plan changed to long term and seasonal camping only.

If you have made a deposit , please request your refund.

I will post new location as soon as we have made that decision.

Thank you for your continued support.

Well another GSVR in the books! What a good time we Van people had! We had 61 vans show up , and 29 of them were in the show and shine. The weather was cold , but no rain. We had a great day for the show. The band Crossfire played for us again this year ,even though they were very cold. I would like to thank all of those that attended, all of the trophy sponsors, and all who donated cash to our council. We have a great group of officers, again this year. And I would like to thank them for all the hard work they did this weekend. If all goes well we will return to our normal schedule next year. Our date for next year is October 1, 2, & 3, 2021. Mark your calendars if you plan to attend. Oh and thank you parents/adults, for bringing the kiddos, and allowing them to play the games with me. I am sorry about the candy high some of them had. Again , thank you to all who attended this year , we do this for you.

Check out out Facebook Page for pictures and videos from GSVR XVI!!

WOW, what a weekend; 65 vans, 27 in the show, Boot’s van coming to visit the hot wheel racing, I could go on! So many exciting things happening. We officers of SEVC Thank You all for coming to party and play with us this year and invite you to make your reservations early for next year.

For those of you that drove longer distances, thank you for the effort you put in to join us in beautiful North Carolina. To the adults of the children I played with, they are each and all a treasure that you share with me at GSVR. Thank you for them. We will continue to grow only through them.

The food brought to this event was unreal . Mmm, oh so good, too! I hear the “shine” was too.

I was fortunate to have many good friends come and spend time with Martin, Redman, and I at our place. It’s always good when friends come to our site because you know they want to visit a spell after climbing that hill.

Again thank you and come see us again soon.

Thanks to all that attended Southeast Van Council’s spring meeting. We had 15 people with 8 vans present. All officers were present (but we missed Q). Thanks to these fine folks we are hoping to have another Great Southern Van Run this fall. As always, if you have an issue that needs brought to our attention, please fill free to reach out to any officer and know your issue will be addressed. Hope all of you will return to Cherokee this fall and join us at GSVR 15. Our theme is “15 to Life”, so bring a costume and have some fun. We look forward to seeing all of you at GSVR 15 this fall. Thank you.
